"Who's the big man now?"

Last week Chris Sigler, a 17-year-old senior at Sequoyah High School in Madisonville, Tennessee, was reportedly pushed, bumped in the chest and verbally harassed by his principal for wearing a T-shirt in support of efforts to establish a gay-straight alliance (GSA) club on campus.  Throughout the incident, which was witnessed by the student’s sister, Principal Maurice Moser allegedly taunted the student with statements like, “Who’s the big man now?”

Certainly not a school administrator bullying a student.  ACLU-TN and the ACLU LGBT Project sent a letter to the school district on October 4, 2011 demanding that the students’ rights to free speech be protected. Please add your voice in support of the students.

Please enter your zip below to generate a letter to Director of Schools Mike Lowry and then add your own words to the letter.  Form letters don't have the same impact as your own voice.
