Governor Christie: We aren't fooled.
Today, Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) is in New Hampshire announcing his intention to destroy Social Security and Medicare.
Though Governor Christie has not yet declared himself a candidate for President, he is holding town halls in the state that holds the first-in-the-nation Presidential primary. His proposal today would raise retirement ages for Social Security and Medicare, along with dangerous means-testing cuts to Social Security benefits.
The truth is that Social Security can keep paying its benefits in full and on time for the next 75 years if millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share. If we want to talk about making changes to our Social Security system, we should be improving it—not weakening it.
