Fight for the SAVE Benefits Act!
Did you notice that Social Security benefits didn’t receive a Cost of Living Adjustment this year?
Elizabeth Warren did. That’s why she introduced the SAVE Benefits Act last fall – a one-time $580 payment for 70 million Americans receiving Social Security – to serve as a lifeline in a year of rising out-of-pocket costs, but no Cost of Living Adjustment.
The bill has received widespread support amongst Democrats and would be paid for by closing a loophole that subsidizes runaway CEO pay. The idea of closing this CEO pay loophole has received consistent bipartisan support in the past, but now Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is refusing to bring the SAVE Benefits Act up for a vote.
