Sign the petition to stop "Retros"

Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1487 would change how workers' comp claims get managed — and not for the better.

1487 would put large portions of workers' claims management in the hands of big business interest-controlled "retros," giving them the power to close claims and order independent medical exams to slow down the process whenever they want — with almost no oversight or penalty.

Allowing these new "retros" to manage injured workers' claims is like letting the fox guard the hen house — and Washington workers deserve better.

Sign the petition now calling on the Washington State House to vote NO on 1487 and "retros."

Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1487 — like Senate Bill 5566 and initiative 1082 before it — is another end-around by corporate interests to let them run roughshod over Washington's workers’ compensation.

If Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1487 passes, large portions of workers' claims management will shift from the impartial Department of Labor and Industries to "Retrospective Rating Groups", or "retros" — which are controlled by big business interests like BIAW, The Farm Bureau, and AWB.

And 1487 lacks any checks and balances to protect workers from abusive practices, allowing big business interests to close claims and order independent medical exams to slow down the process whenever they want — without any penalties.

Allowing these new "retros" to manage injured workers' claims is like letting the fox guard the hen house — and Washington workers deserve better.

Please vote NO on Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1487.
