Coalition Hosts 3 day Training Course for Bay Area Sikhs

The Sikh Coalition has successfully trained over two dozen Sikhs in the tri-state area to deliver Sikh Awareness presentations in their local communities. These trained presenters are currently making presentations in schools and at places of business throughout New York and New Jersey.

The Coalition wanted to replicate this model in the Bay Area and bring the Course to the California sangat. From April 30 – May 2, fifteen Sikhs participated in a 3 day series of workshops led by the Coalition’s Education Director, a Coalition Board Member, and Fred Polirer, an experienced facilitator in the field of public speaking. Why Conduct a Sikh Presenter’s Training Course?

The Coalition has conducted countless presentations in schools, agencies, and interfaith panels. We have found that the need for these trainings is growing every year. For this reason, the Coalition created the Course in order to target a particular geographic region and train Sikh community members in that area on how to deliver Sikh Awareness presentations.

The Coalition has now trained over 40 community members across the country who will deliver at least two presentations every year. The Sikh Presenter’s Course graduates have both the skills and the passion to educate their neighbors on the Sikh faith. This means that, through these presentations, thousands of people across the country will not only understand basic Sikhi concepts, but also have a positive association with Sikhs.

If you would like to sponsor a Sikh Presenter's Course in your area, please send an email to education@sikhcoalition.org.
