Before you register you may wish to review our session descriptions, tentative daily schedule, and FAQ.
Please register from your preferred e-mail address and enter the address accurately in the boxes provided. This will help prevent any communication errors or lost emails!
Who should attend? Seminar seats will be given only to those candidates who are officially registered with NBPTS. You may register with NBPTS here. You will be entering your NBPTS candidate ID number in the registration information below.
We look forward to supporting you at a great Jump Start event! Come prepared to learn, think, plan and connect with other amazing teachers. There are several documents you will need to bring to Jump Start to ensure a successful candidacy preparation. Please click here for instructions to download and print these important documents! CTE Candidates please click here. Please note that there will be no access to a printer or copier at the Jump Start location. It will take more time than you think to complete this task -- don't wait until the day before Jump Start!
National Board Jump Start WEA registration fees include breakfast, lunch, beverages and snacks each day, training fees, clock hours, and materials. Up to 26 Clock Hours are available for the National Board Jump Starts. All participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging.
- You will need your WEA membership ID if you wish to register at the member price. If you are having difficulty locating your WEA membership card, you may continue to register without it and we will find it for you.
- If you are not a WEA member and register at the member price, you will be moved to a waitlist and your ticket cost will be refunded until space opens up for your non-member price attendance.
You must read the NBPTS Guidelines for Ethical Candidate Support policy as you will be asked during registration to verify that you have read and will follow the guidelines. Click here to read the policy.
Please note that the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) is now completing the roll-out of their revised certification process.
- Component 4 instructions are available in field test version only.
- For CTE candidates, Components 2 and 3 are also field test directions.
Important note for World Language Other than English (WLOE) candidates: The National Board recently announced changes to eligibility requirements for World Language candidates. Please see the Guide to National Board Certification for more information. NBPTS states that the Component 1 instructions for World Languages will be available in 2016-2017. Because WLOE Component 1 instructions are not yet available, we will be offering certificate-alike collaborative study time with a WLOE NBCT available during the Component 1 session at Jump Start.
