Stay involved in education by joining WEA-Retired / NEA-Retired
- As an Active WEA/NEA member, you can become a Pre-Retired Life Member of WEA-Retired/NEA-Retired before you retire. This choice locks in membership without any further dues after you retire.
- If you are already retired, you can join WEA-Retired / NEA-Retired either by paying one-time Life Member dues or year-by-year Annual Member dues. You will remain one of the nearly three million WEA and NEA voices advocating for students, public schools and the welfare of retirees.
WEA-Retired membership shall be limited to any person who has held Active membership in WEA or any other state education association prior to retirement and/or who is an annuitant of a public education employees' retirement system or a retirement system of a college or university or education agency AND who was employed for at least five years in a position that qualified him or her for Active membership but who is no longer so employed. However, no person who has served as a school administrator may be a member of WEA-Retired unless such person was an Active WEA member who was not employed as an administrator at the time of retirement.
