Democracy Lobby Day on February 21 in Olympia!
Register HERE!
There is still time to join the League of Women Voters of WA and Fix Democracy First in Olympia on Thursday, Feb. 21 for a day of advocacy for election access and campaign-finance reform. The theme for the day will be “Democracy Rocks!” Register HERE to join us in making sure that Democracy Works!
WHY
We made great progress together on election reform and expanding access to democracy last year, but we still have more work to do. Securing postage prepaid ballots, increasing transparency and ethics in campaign-finance, and expanding voting rights for Native Americans and those with previous felony convictions. You can see a complete list of the Democracy bills we are prioritizing on this page.
WHERE
We will be based in the Columbia Room #119 in the Legislative Building at the State Capitol in Olympia for the entire day. See this page for information on parking, local transportation and a map of the Capitol Campus.
WHEN
Thursday, Feb. 21. We'll open registration at 8:30 am, with orientation at 9 am, followed by a full schedule of speakers and training opportunities, and will wrap-up around 3 pm.
WHAT
We’ll spend the morning learning about the important bills regarding Democracy, getting advocacy tips from seasoned lobbyists in this year’s session. We will be hearing from key legislators and other government leaders throughout the day.
