2015 Looks to Be a Big Year for HPP
It’s only January and HPP already has 151 projects in the 2015 pipeline, according to HPP Quality Assurance expert, Rebecca Brown/BKi. At the January 21 Contractor Meeting, Brown announced a strong start with 53 approved rebates (19 at this time last year) and 65 new job submission (28 at this time last year). The new streamlined job submission process (that is, no test-in required) appears to be having an impact.
Jim Mills/SMUD HPP Program Manager noted that — to-date — the HPP has completed over 2,000 projects, which represents a 1 percent penetration of the Sacramento single family home market and 16 percent of program-rebated projects statewide. The kilowatt hour total saved is 9,081,820, which is equivalent to reducing residential greenhouse gas emissions from 571 homes. A significant achievement — thanks to you and your sales/admin/project teams!

HVAC+HPP Rebates Increased
HPP has increased HVAC+HPP rebates to sweeten the opportunity for your furnace replacement customers to upgrade to HPP.
New In-Office Mentoring Service
Are you onboarding new employees? Do you want to support seasoned staffers? HPP contractors are eligible for a new in-office mentoring service featuring customized on-site training at the time and place that meets your needs. HPP’s new In-Office Mentoring provides updates/refreshers on topics such as: HPP requirements/protocols; job submission process/best practices; rebate measures/project scope planning tips; HPP + Home Upgrade rebates for more customer value; common mistakes/ways to avoid them; and QA/QC rules/support to ensure a successful project and a happy customer. Interested contractors can select from a list of topics or suggest their own. Sessions can last from 1-2 hours depending on your needs.

Based in Folsom, BGI will lead the In-Office Mentoring service drawing on its expertise in energy efficiency training, building modeling, building life cycle cost analysis, energy savings verification, HERS ratings, economic analyses, and Title 24 code.

Reminder: 2015 Contractor Participation Agreement due 01-31-15
The HPP Contractor Participation Agreement has been updated. All existing and new contractors need to submit a signed 2015 CPA by January 31, 2015. The new CPA includes a summary of all rule changes, the current incentive menu, and the updated job submission timeline. To obtain the CPA, download the new Contractor Participation Agreement, sign, and send to Jim Mills (email@example.com).
