Original PDAction Climate Resolution Embraced by CPC Caucus
Planet Earth—with her wealth of resources—has become the final battleground in the war between corporate avarice and civil society. To preserve democracy, we must work together to build a strong, sustainable economy. That means creating more green jobs (especially for veterans), phasing out fossil fuels in favor of renewables, and keeping a watchful eye on trade policy.
On Monday, Rep. Raul Grijalva (AZ), introduced House Res. 540 for a clean energy future. He was joined by twenty-two co-sponsors. But this resolution did not happen in a vacuum. It was in large part because of the work of PDAction and its partners that this resolution came to life.
People Demanding Action is serious about addressing climate change and its fallout. We have partnered with Progressive Congress to strengthen our work with the Congressional Progressive Caucus while we work smarter and harder to achieve our climate justice goals.
We recognize that a sound legislative strategy—with strategic partnerships at both the organizational level and through collaboration with grassroots progressive activists—is key to winning on climate and many other issues that affect quality of life—especially in low income communities.
In 2016 we will expand our climate justice work, reaching out to empower communities of color and low-income communities to win this and other crucial social and economic justice battles. We’ll provide issue-focused education, updates, talking points, background materials and research, lobby training, field support, and a full complement of digital organizing tools. But to do it, we need your help. Will you partner with us to empower everyday people to take action?
