We Oppose the War in Afghanistan

While communities across our country are in desperate need of basics like jobs, education and healthcare, the president has recommitted the United States to a disastrous, escalating war in Afghanistan.

Instead of turning away from perpetual war, the president embraced it -- and recently told the 100,000 American troops in Afghanistan, “You will succeed in your mission.”

The U.S. military cannot prevail in Afghanistan -- and should not try. The president’s current course will bring more suffering and death to Afghanistan while squandering billions of dollars every week.
